Hi! I adopted a dog a pug mix a few months ago. He’s house trained, but,
1. He takes a VERY long time to get to go to the bathroom outside, he knows the command ‘go potty’, just is a little stubborn.
2. He will not do number 1 and 2 in the same outing no matter how long I wait and give him the commands.
If I walk him for at least a half hour, he’ll do number 1 and 2, but I can’t do that usually more than once a day. I take him out 4-5 times a day. Any advice?

Sorry I don't have much that will be helpful - some dogs (and people for that matter) can't ”go” on a timetable. It's possible too that he needs the physical movement of walking to get the muscles going and stimulate his urge to poo.

I promise he isn't doing it to be stubborn though. He isn't trying to spite you, if he can't toilet, he can't toilet! And, I'm afraid repeating the commands won't make him toilet if he isn't able.

My best suggestion is just to allow a bit more time for him.

Maybe if he was greatly rewarded when he does go he would try to go faster?...
