While walking our 11 year old boxer mix today, she had an extremely strange poop. The first part was a slimy/mucus ball and the second part connected to it was stringy. The string part could be pieces of rug. It pulled apart very easily so those rug pieces could have been in there for a while. Her behavior/energy level has not changed. Yesterday, her stomach was bothering her and was making noises and she was not eating. Today, she ate her breakfast. Her stomach will occasionally act up and make noises once every few weeks and she will eat grass outside to settle it.

Could the stringy part have been grass? If my dog eats grass, it comes out like it went in.

I don’t think so. Most grass I see her eat is still green when it comes out. You can see a green piece of grass on the left of the pic.

It initially looked to me like some sort of innards/intestines. It is extremely soft and pulls apart easily. Going to monitor the dog and might consult a vet tomorrow if her poop continues like that or if her behavior changes
