We acquired Mimi from our local RSPCA (animal shelter) when she was 8 weeks old and she is now 16 months old. Occasionally I will give her a small bone to munch on outside in the back garden. Once she has polished it and it is clean she is allowed to bring it indoors and continue to chew on it. Minutes later, she comes to me, stands by my side, puts the bone on my lap and starts chewing on it! No matter how often I remove it, she brings it back. It seems she needs to be near me when she eats. I can pat her at the same time, it doesn't bother her. Is anyone's dog doing the same? Or anyone know why she does this?

I think so too Sivaro and I agree with you Krazy4Pets about her being attached to me. When she does this, her face becomes like a pup's. It softens and although all she does is chew, I feel almost compelled to pat her head as if she is asking me to.

UnDeadKnight1, Mimi has a lot of the boxer traits ... she is a real clown! She is also almost like a cat.. both soft on her coat and so agile! Can't wait to get her DNA results back! We might all be surprised!!!
