Hi my dog is sick and i just need some advice really bad. He has been throwing up for a day and a half and having diarea but only a very small amount at a time. He has barely eaten or drank anything but today started being able to hold down a small amount of water. He isnt whining or acting like his stomache hurts and he isn't bloated. Suddenly about an hour ago he got up and insisted i share the cheese on my pizza with him. Its normal for him to want the cheese on my pizza but this time he was very demanding and persistent but normally he'll have better manners or he wont get any. I let him get away with it because i was so happy he wanted to eat and drink. When i tried to get him to slow down bcs he has been so sick he wasn't hearing any of that. Now he is back to laying down looking pretty pathetic but he has held it down. Does anyone have any experience with an abstruction, would he want to eat at all if he did have one? Any advice is appreciated untill i get enough $ for the vet im loosing my mind bcs he is my life and i was recently seriously sick and he didnt leave my side.

I have no experience with an obstruction or the symptoms. If that’s the case you will need a vet. You can try canned pumpkin, it’s great for minor intestinal issues like diarrhea and vomiting. It’s great that he’s showing interest in food but I’d slack off on any cheese or junk type foods for now.

Sorry to hear your baby is not feeling well. I would think that his wanting to share your pizza is a very good sign. Maybe he ate something like an acorn or leaf that didn't sit well with him.

But, I was just about to suggest canned pumpkin when I saw that @Floki had posted about it, too. I use it all the time with my three dogs, one being a chihuahua. It is great for all kinds of stomach/pooping issues. Also if I think one of my dogs ingested something bad , I grab the canned pumpkin and give them a few spoonfuls of it. The high fiber can help make the foreign item pass if it is not too big.

***Use only canned pumpkin with NO ADDED SUGAR. I find it at my local grocery store on the baking aisle for 79 cents a can.

I mix it into my dog's bowls with their regular meals. If I have to give extra portion, I generally put some chicken broth or cooked meat juice mixed in to help with the taste/smell.

If your dog isn't drinking, to avoid dehydration, you could boil some chicken with water and then give your dog the broth from that. We make chicken like this often and then I pour the broth into ice cube trays and freeze, then put the cubes in ziploc bags for later use. And the chicken we cube up into small bites for training treats and freeze as well. Convenient, cheap, and healthy! And they love it, esp when they aren't feeling so great.

I really hope your doggie feels better soon!!!

Keep us posted, ok?

Don't let it go too long. If he doesn't start, eating, drinking, peeing and pooping, get him to a Vet for a work up. If there is something serious going on, best to diagnose and treat sooner, rather than later. Hopefully by now he is clearly recovering, but if not...……..
