Should i worry about my dog's poo?

Hello, im new to this forum and new to being a puppy owner. My husband and i just adopted a 6 month old pup from a shelter, we think she is a mixed breed between a labrador and a lurcher.
So far, her poos have been very soft and happening to almost 9 times a day or so. Im a wee bit worried about this, however my husband isnt as the shelter people have told us that the change might be causing the soft poo. But surely it shouldnt be that soft?
I know we arent feeding her the best food, she is on Pedigree at the moment as thats what she has been fed at the shelter and we've been told to start her slowly on better food, with higher meat content.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated! Im thinking if this continues, i am taking her to the vet! She probably could do with a check up.
Thank you so much!!

How long has she been with you? Stress, parasites and food quality can affect their poo. It's a good idea to get a check up and build a relationship with your new vet if you haven't already done it.
Hi, thanks for your answer. She has been with us since Tuesday and not much has changed with her poo since. So not really sure what to do! She seems to be in good form, playful and very loving though:)
Any vet records or blood tests come with her? If not, I would take her to the vet for a full checkup and full bloodwork to get a baseline for future reference.

Purina foods are very low on my list, but shelters have to take what they can and do the best they can with what they have. God love the people that work at shelters, I tried it and couldn't do it. My heart was always breaking.

Give her time, try a better quality food.
I would say take her to the vets, have'ing loose stool 9 times a day is a lot. Is she pooping a lot each time or a little?
Because parasites can be a cause make sure you bring a stool sample with you to the vets. Its better to be safe rather then sorry.
Other then parasites it could be the stress of moving or her eating pedigree. Hopefully its not something serious and given time and on a better food it will clear up.

Make sure she's getting plenty of water, having a lot of loose stool can be dehydrating.
