Our Rescued (I call a Dingo) we've had 9 mos. now. He is very territorial protective. He is hyper (anxious). He was attacked (in our home) by a visiting Mastif. Since then, he's changed. He has charged at & nipped 3 of our neighbors, not breaking skin. And we were advised he "is unstable, to put him down".
When I leave the house he barks intently for hours, in his crate. He's loyal, sweet, obedient, but afraid. I don't know if they are right, that we should "put him down"?

Yeah that is a tough situation. I am wondering if it would be possible for you to hire a ddog behaviorist to work with the dog on the anxiety/biting problems? I feel like putting the dog down is a last resort.

ETA Who advised you to put the dog down?

That could be very tough. Please think carefully before you decide putting him down. Kiko has point, how about hiring a dog behaviorist? I think it would really help.
