As for boots, I got Tigger the griptrex and they are fabulous. I think for you, the summits would probably be better. The polar trex, to me, are more meant for serious snow tromping and sports like ski-joring or sledding. They go so high up the leg to prevent snow from getting in. I mean, I'm sure they'd still work fine for you if you really want them. But I'm just thinking that for more general purposes and general seasons, the summets or grips would probably be more ideal. They will be cooler in the summer, less fabric to get caught on brush, easier to put on etc.
