Aaaah, puppies... I just need to vent more than anything.
This morning I woke up to my pup having wet herself in her crate some time during the night. She hasn't done this in a while, so I'm not too concerned. I immediately took her outside for her business, then gave her a bath before her breakfast.
Freybug loves baths, especially the part where I get her a big towel and start drying her off. She goes crazy with excitement and gets the zoomies. It's really funny. So I brought her into the living room with her towel and just let her go nuts while I cleaned up her crate mess. No problem. I've done it before. I guess this time, though, she was a little too excited and ended up taking a massive steaming DUMP behind my back! GREAT! More to clean up! Oh, and I should mention she also peed on the third cat bed I've had to toss. Seems she still hasn't figured out that grass is OUTSIDE and cat beds don't count as "grass".
I'm still feeling really rotten from a nasty cold I've been fighting since Friday, so at this point my head was pounding, I was nauseated, aching, and fed up. Without yelling, I let her know by the tone of my voice that I was disappointed in her as I was cleaning up her crap, but chances are she didn't get it. That's fine. I'm not really angry at her, just at the situation. Accidents happen...
So now I'm taking a step backwards with her house training, because clearly she's not ready for more freedom (though she was doing extremely well before this). It was a difficult, slightly chaotic morning. Until I see improvement, she's going right back to her 2-month-old puppy routine.
