Hi everyone. My 8 month old Ridgeback grunts and groans all the time. Usually it's when he's stretching or when he lays down. He's always done it, and he doesn't show any other signs of discomfort, but I was just wondering if anyone has any insights. His groans are loud and drawn out, but he's always done it (we got him at 8 weeks). Is this normal, or something we should be concerned with? Thanks in advance!

Nola gives a big, contented groan when you rub her chest and when she stretches. I'd say if he's not showing any sign of pain he's okay.

Sam does the same thing too.
All through the night when he is his crate, I hear moans and groans every time he changes position.
Just like Amandanola's baby, stretch, groan.
Nothing wrong with yours, very normal.

If my St isn't making some sort of noise I've got to check to make sure he's breathing. lol He even moans when you pet him. Snorts like a pig while eating. Snores at night. Groans when he rolls over. He's a vocal boy. He'll also "tell" you when he wants to eat.
