Can anyone recommend a dog trainer in the Long Beach/Orange County area in California?

We just adopted a two-year-old 20-lb Sheltie mix, and while she is quite well behaved for the most part, there are still things that we want to work on. She's not too reactive with people or animals, but she doesn't follow verbal or gesture commands (come/stay/down).

Thank you!

I'm not in the area, but if I may, I would like to make a couple of observations.

First, please make sure the trainer you go to uses force free, reward based methods. Sadly there are still people out there who use force and dominance. The science behind these has been widely discredited but it is the flat earth theory of dog training, it won't go away.

Second, while you are looking for a trainer, check out Kikopup on YouTube. She has loads of short training videos, including everything from basic manners to cool tricks.
