Well... I have one.
And it happened just today out on the road...

Everyone knows that traffic accidents is the #1 killer of dogs...
I am sure everyone knows.

Except some dogs who are lacked of experiences and not taught by their dams or parents... Or just that spontanious "rush" we canines have that causes us to "forget" that cars are dangerous.

Well...
My mommi had a summer church class friend (aquaintance).
Her dog just died last year from a car accident...
And this friend had on quite a few occasions complained about how bad the traffic is where her house is at and that her dog will "one of these days" get run over...
It sure did... almost as if this dog's owner *cursed* that dog to die...

And do you think the lessons are learned???

Just today... driving by this friend's house, my mommi saw a new puppy running out on the road!!! And there is someone running behind this puppy... Now a line of cars have been stopped on one way but not stopped on the other direction and this dog is weaving back & forth unto traffic in both directions!!!

OMG!!!

And you think humans are "smart" enough to learn from their past mistakes!!!

Erghhhhh!!!!

*Not*

Really wish people would stop offering to train my dog for me 'if i dont have time'... he's only 6 months old and we've been focussing on toilet training and general early stage behaviour so im terribly sorry if his lack of ability to do a back flip whilst barking Abba's 'waterloo' with pitch perfect precision is vexing you!!!!!

I wish some of the people I volunteer at the animal shelter with had a lick of knowledge on canine body language...I don't care if you're twice my age, I saw a fight coming, you thought "They were just playing". Respect my opinion enough to at least listen to me. If I wasn't there to step in, god knows what would have happened.

To people on Craigslist,

1) There are not that many farms.
2) Most farmers already have a dog of sound breeding.
3) Farms are not an instantly magic fix it pill for adolescent dogs.

SO

Please no more rehoming ads that say "I hav a purr bread 6 mo golden lab. Don't know his own strength. Got to big 2 play wit my 3 yrs old. Needs a home w room 2 run, wood luv 2 see him go to a farm! He is a sweetheart but just got 2 much energy."

Here in Iowa being the farm capital of the Midwest, these ^^ comprise literally 90% of Craigslist pet ads. Just how many farms do people think there are??

Wait, are you saying the entire state of Iowa isn't one big cornfield? Crazy talk!

My complaint of the day is aimed at my city's Animal Control. No one seems to want to discuss how a dog simply "vanished" from one of the kennels before she could be pulled for a foster home.

This thread could be dangerous for me...Sorry in advance if I go off on too many crazy rants. I mean that, I truly am sorry. ><

Yea, it seems like farms and large yards are the magic fix for all active dogs. No need to take care of them if they can run free...

I wish people would listen to me when I say Koda bites and they should leash their dogs from farther off...

I wish I could explain to Applejack that yes, it is very comfortable and fun to play with, but it is Milo's bed and she really doesn't need to be herded out of it every time the poor thing lays down.

Or that I really will be back, I just want to run to the store for some things for dinner. There's no need to freak out and tear up the carpet under the bathroom door, its literally going to be 15 minutes.

So sick & tired of being judged by people who have never walked a moment never mind a day in my shoes. Sick of people thinking because I have so many dogs I must be producing puppies continuously.
MOST OF ALL I am sick of seeing wonderful bitches who have given their all for their owners, wining champ after champ. To go on & produce champ after champ only to be desexed & rehomed once her pup birthing & show days are over.

I wish there was a universal way to say "My dog is reactive with other dogs! Walk the other way!" without yelling. Cause if I yell I'll call Roscoe's attention to their dog. But maybe if there was some hand signal, just maybe I wouldn't have to take the long way home all the time

I can only imagine how babysitting other dogs who aren't even housetrained would be. When I first got Koda I think I went into crazy training mode-I don't remember her ever being calm, it was either training or sleep. SHE WAS INSANE, and she was housetrained. I empathize.

I like the universal hand gesture, but it would unfortunately never work because people are always stupid. They don't even respond to yelling -_- Maybe we can carry picket signs saying "STAY AWAY SHE/HE BITES!!!"?

I wish that after a long walk (little over 1.5 miles) to the park, 40 minutes of hard fetch, and a long walk home from the park would tire Rhea out enough to not eat another venus razor (my fault I guess, just can't leave a brand new packaged one of the counter for 5 minutes! IN THE BAG TOO! darn aloe scent), and that it would tire Flynn out enough so that she wouldn't want to play fetch the instant we get through the door and sit down.

Oh, and that's not their only daily exercise/training/whatever, it was just the morning walk so i could try and go to the pool and get my book reading on in the sun. LOL
