My mother gave her dog 2 rabbits ears to eat and they made him very sick, coughing up blood and diarea, Has anybody come across this Issue before?

Many dogs like them - they don't agree with him either, he gets sick but the coughing blood sounds serious. If that doesn't stop straight away, I think you might need to see a vet.

Thanks for your Reply 👍Yes she is Bringing him to the Vet today, She was just trying to find out if its happened to any other dog/dogs.
The dog might have torn off a chunk and on the way down, it injured some tissue in the digestive tract. Please let us know what the vet finds out.
BTW: many pigs ears originate in China, and I wouldn't feed them in any case., as there are many better alternatives, like Bully Sticks..

@Buzzu2 The original post said Rabbits ears, I would not have thought they were big enough to cause such a problem.
I would not use those fatty pigs ears either, there are far better and more healthy options to use.

Thank you. I noticed my mistake after too much time had passed to edit the post. TBH, I don't recall even seeing rabbit ears at any pet shops that I frequent. I guess my eyes say Rabbit, but the brain though pig. LOL

Actually, rabbits ears are quite good for dental health and a great healthy snack for your dog. However, it depends entirely on the quality of the rabbit stock, and if you get a bad batch they can definitely make your dog sick. Coughing blood sounds quite extreme reaction, so I would take your dog to a vet immediately - it may be unrelated to the ears and another issue entirely.
