Questioning Having A New Puppy

Hi everyone! I'm in need of some help from someone more knowledgable than I am. I live with my boyfriend in a 2 bed 2 bath apartment with our cat and our border collie who is 8ish. A coworker of mine's dog had quite a few puppies. Mom is a German Shepard/Red Heeler mix and Dad is an Australian Shepard. Both parents are pretty lazy. The puppy we would get is a female. Our border collie hates the dog park and all that so we would have to go there and do a lot more exercise (which is fine because I need to be more fit) but I don't know these breeds well. I know they are herder type breeds and are very active. And we can be active of course, I just want to make sure everyone wins. My boyfriend is 100% for it but I'm the more realistic one so I just want to make sure this is a right move. I would love to have a this dog and we understand the work a puppy is however I don't know the breeds well other than doing some research. Anyway thanks for any help.

If you would be getting this puppy because you wanted it, rather than just cos it's available, that's fine. Just because the parents appear 'lazy' doesn't mean your puppy couldn't be the opposite..the parents may be unfit, or just accepting of a certain lifestyle.
I'm wondering why your collie doesn't like the dog park, and how he shows this because any problem you have with your current dog will likely be learned by the new puppy as well.
Hope this helps.
