Hi, everyone, as the title says I'm posting about using Quercetin for my Chiweenie's environmental allergies. She has pretty bad allergies with skin rashes and red itchy eyes and ears. Just itchy in general. I did some research a while ago and tried a bunch of different allergy medications like Benadryl but nothing helped until I came across some articles about Quercetin and after more research I decided to give that a try. She has been on it for a while now and it has worked miracles on her. This winter her eyes are barely red and itchy at all while last winter she scratched her eyes raw and the hair fell out around her lids. It really is great and the only thing that has worked for her. The only problem is that I read she shouldn't be on it forever and should take breaks from it. But I know her allergies are going to come back full force if I stop it. Any ideas on what to do? Has any one else had any experience with Quercetin/is it safe to continue to give it to her? I'd really appreciate any help! Thanks!

Have her allergy tested and if environmental allergies do the immunotherapy treatments. There's also a steroid shot that works for a few weeks while immunotherapy treatments start to work. I have a cat who's dealing with the same thing. The immunotherapy treatments work for life and she won't have to be on medication forever.
