So my four month old beagle mix had what they thought was a uti because of crystals and elevated white blood cells in urine. There was no bacteria but a greenish discharge was there when she peed. She did 8 days twice daily clavomax. On Saturday she finished, she is licking a lot less and there is no more discharge but she is still peeing often. so yesterday I brought in another sample to retest like they asked. They said the crystals went away, still no bacteria, but they are still seeing an elevated white blood cell count and because she is peeing often still they are concerned there is inflammation or infection somewhere. They want x rays and specialists and I am starting to get tapped out financially. If there is no bacteria or crystals what could be going on? I have pet insurance but I got it a week ago and I am not sure if any of this will be covered since she had her first urinalysis two days before I got pet insurance.

Elevated white cell count is an indication of infection somewhere in the body. You didn't say how high a white cell count she has, which can be an indicator of how severe an infection is present. You may need a specialist to track it down identify what bacteria is present and what medication will be effective to treat her.

They didnt tell me how high the white blood cell count was. Im waiting for them to return my phone call today.

I will ask about the vaginitis. She is getting spayed end of september, few days before she turns 6mos. Would that clear this up if it is vaginitis?

That's a good question for your Vet. Not knowing for sure what the problem is, any of us on the board could only make guesses, which is not what you need. You need real information, only your Vet can provide.

Well we cant seem to catch a break. She has had awful gas and very mushy stools for about 5 days now. It started when i let her have some baby carrots and bananas a few days ago. I thought it just didnt agree with her and it would pass but now it is day 5. She passes gas 6x a day or so and it fills the room lol. Her stools arent watery but very mushy. Her appetite and hyperactivity hasnt changed. Should i add pumpkin to her kibble? She has been on FROMM puppy gold for a little over a month now.
