My 11 week old puppy, Richard, was ran over and now has a broken pelvis. The vet said he didn't need surgery and that it would heal by itself with bed rest for 8 weeks. Not even a week after he was ran over, he wanted to walk. It is almost 3 weeks since and he refuses to keep still. Putting him in his kennel or pin doesn't work because he paces in circles. He is walking fine, with a little limp but I don't know if I should let him. To go potty I use a sling to keep his back legs off the ground, but I can't use the sling for every moment of the day. Is it okay to let him walk this soon? Any advice is much appreciated.

These are questions for your vet!!!
Bring puppy for his scheduled rechecks and ask these questions. Puppies often heal amazingly fast, but a repeat X-ray will tell if there is enough callous to allow a little more freedom... better to be safe, because if you allow too much too soon this could put you back at square one with another 6-8 weeks of confinement :(
