I have a new choc lab. She is 8 weeks old. Is it too early to give her treats for training purposes? if so, how do i know which treats are appropriate to give her? thanks
Treats are fine right from the start. Every dog is different, so what works for mine might not work for yours. I'd suggest zukes, they make little squishy training treats in novel flavors, no food coloring, BHT or grains.
the above treats are good. But you can also take a hotdog and chop it up into little slices, or buy some live and chop it up into bits. I used to trim the fat off my bacon and use that. Let the dog tell you what he likes best. Some dogs even like toys more than treats.
