So Heidi had some blood in her mouth yesterday, and I figured it was from a tooth coming out, but figured I'd check anyway. I noticed a gap where a tooth had been, but more disturbingly, noticed that both of her large canines are erupting, but the baby teeth aren't falling out.

I'm concerned because I've read if they don't fall out, they will cause the adult teeth to erupt in the wrong spots, which can cause a considerable amount of pain. I guess we'll have to go to the vet on Monday, but I'm worried about having to put her under if that will be required?

This puppy is the reason you should have an emergency fund, she is going to bankrupt us.

I was afraid of that. I guess I'll call tomorrow morning and get her an appointment.

@Esand - She was from a breeder. I'm surprised she didn't mention anything. I'm actually quickly losing faith in breeders.

Update: One of the teeth has fallen out on it's own, hopefully the other will follow suit. Regardless, we have a vet appointment on Friday.

I hate teeth. Anything regarding loose teeth or losing teeth just creeps me out big time.

Is the other one loose at all? I know I've had at least one dog with this problem and they did fall out pretty soon after I noticed it. Within days, I think.

But, I'm not as good as I could be with puppy tooth care...because they are loose and I just can't.
Oh man, that's how I feel if a nail is loose/cracked. Something about it makes my tummy go all flip-floppy. I just tried to wiggle it, and it does not seem loose at all, but time will tell.

Update!

Through some nice chew toys and some tug with me and Levi, Heidi's teeth have successfully fallen out. :)
