my 3 month old rough collie got his second vaccination yesterday. He has not been himself since then. He has suddenly started to drool a lot, whined all night long and is refusing much water. He also shat and peed all around the house. Please help!!!!

Thank you

if you have any concerns about your dog's health after a vaccination or any other time your first port of call must be a vet.
dogs and especially puppies can deteriorate very quickly so please do not delay call your vet at once.

Well he is all right now. He had a reaction to the vaccine. Convulsions caused him to poop in the house. We are not very wary of vaccines. I am now planning to just give the essentials. We live in quite a healthy and safe neighbourhood. Thank you all for your help and guidance

Youre welcome..
Ive never had a dog have a reation to a vaccine but once a beagle had a reaction to a worming cure that made it seem as if he had had a stroke.. Very frightening for us but our vet soon out us right and our dog was fine afterwards we just knew to avoid that type of tablet..

Weigh up the risks and talk with your vet about a vaccine schedule maybe leave a little extra time between shots or have them one by one instead of the cocktail.

Please, please ask your vet about the MDR1 test (multi-drug sensitivity). All dogs in the herding group are especially susceptible to this, collies at the top of the list!

For more information go to...

The test is $60.00, easy to do and well worth the time and money, may save your collie suffering or worse.
Ask your vet about this, they will know.
