Just recently I noticed that my puppy started hiding her treats. Right after I gave her a minty bone yesterday she went and hid it in my laundry and then today I gave her a busy bone and she jumped on my bed and hid it under the pillow.

What would be some reasons why she would start doing this?

Hi Raqr,

Welcome to the Dog Forum! I think this is probably instinctual behavior. Dogs, like humans, seem to want to find "safe" spots to hide their valued items. I had a dog that liked to hide his bones in the fireplace!

When we got our dog Asha at around 5 months she did this with treats and food, she'd hide them in her bed and behind pillows on the couch. She was very skinny when we got her so we assume she thought that the food would disappear if she didn't hide it from us.

She eventually stopped doing this after she realised she had access to food when ever she wanted.
