Hello,

Our precious little baby is 2 1/2 months old. She has received two of her four par Vo shots. We had plans to go camping this coming weekend with friends that we haven’t seen in a long time. They have a puppy who is fully vaccinated. Since our baby has two of the vaccines completed already, and we don’t anticipate having her wander on her own, do you think it would be OK to take her camping?

We have also administered flea and tick medication for preventative measures.

Hi. Welcome.

Discuss it with your vet. They'd know more about her level of protection.

But, for the sake of argument, the risk to her is not in wandering off - it's with the amount of other dogs, who perhaps are not vaccinated, that have trodden over the same ground in the days and weeks before you.

At 2.5 months, she's just settling in and getting used to you and your routines.

So, if it were mine, I wouldn't just leave her at home - I'd cancel the trip altogether unless there was someone at home with her.

I agree - another parvo risk is from the urine of rats, so if you are camping in a rural setting, that would be something else to worry about.

Sorry but I wouldnt be going camping anyway with the current state of affairs.
But taking such a young pup is just not wise.
Stay safe and stay home its best for all of you/.
