Hello all. I need some advice about my 4 year old mini pin / chihuaha mix. He has always been a very strange dog. He growls all the time, especially if you look at him ( not in the eyes, of course), he doesn't like to be held, and he is very easily frightened. I have had him since he was born so I know he hasn't been abused. Recently he has started urinating on the carpet when I'm not looking. I have no idea how to get him to change this behavior and if it continues I'm afraid I'll have to give him away. I love him so much, and know that because of his personality, there are very few people who could see him like I do. I don't want to lose my baby boy or even worse, let him be killed because someone else misunderstood his behavior. Any suggestion would help greatly. Thank you so much.

I would recommend getting him to a vet to rule out any medical conditions.

Are you recently divorced? He may just be trying to adjust to his new life. If he doesn't like to be picked up, don't. Try to keep him as comfortable as possible through this transition.
