What are your thoughts on pet tag gps technology? Any specific product recomendations? I think the idea of knowing where my pup is should we ever get separated would be priceless. Thoughts?

I have a friend who uses a brand called Tractive.

As well as locating her dog, it also shows how far the dog has travelled, so that is quite interesting. But it relies on having a good mobile signal and of course doesn't protect against the risk of her dog meeting a real danger.
