Does anyone have any recommendation for pet steps or ramps, or thoughts on this one Pet Gear Easy Step II Extra Wide, Chocolate

It has to be wide, minimum 20 inches long, preferably 24 inches. That's because the brat will otherwise find the place where the steps don't reach and jump down rather then use the steps or ramp.

It needs to be around 14 to 13 inches tall, but no more then 16 inches.

The steps need to be wide, if they are shallow what he does is goes down one or two then jumps the rest of the way down.

He's managed to either hurt his back or knee, this is the third time this year and I know it has to be from jumping off the couch despite all my efforts to prevent him. I'm back to keeping him off the couch and I hate to do that to him but he's fast and will jump off before I know what he's fixing to do. I had steps for the couch but they are narrow in both height and width and he would only use them to get on the couch. Right now I'm using his car booster seat that he uses as a bed but it has a 2 inch tall bumper around the front and it seems to make jumping out of it awkward for him so it does him no good.

I think they certainly look sturdy enough and if you teach him to use them he should limp less and for sure use them! though he coud be a bit put out at first but put treats on them he is sure to go on them!

He's good about going up steps or ramps since he's not to good at jumping up, but he firmly believes that he can jump off and it really doesn't matter how tall the surface is. When I first got him he jumped off my 3 ft high bed before I could stop him. Luckily he now always uses the ramp I have for him to get off the bed, but the couch is still a major issue.

oh dear! well at least he uses the ramp to get off the bed thats a plus!

My boyfriend had to let his old dog go yesterday afternoon, but he built a ramp for him because he had a hard time getting down the steep stairs out back. He took into account the slope so it didn't put a strain on him walking up and down, as well as the wideness so he didn't fall over. So those are a couple things you could consider he put bumpers on it as well, but most bought stairs don't have bumpers and Buddy was small and near blind so he needed them. Oh! And carpet for friction.
