Greetings Folks,
Our 9 year old standard poodle went in for Cataract Surgery 2 months ago. Surgery was successful and we had 2 weeks of improved eyesight for Jethro. 3 weeks in, he developed Fibrin in his eyes along with inflammation that progressively worsened. Multiple TPA shots have been unsuccessful. Inflammation is now controlled (docs believe it was an undiagnosed gall bladder infection and the fibrin a result of broken blood/eye barrier)and bloodwork looks good now but fibrin remains. Jethro is mostly blind which is a downgrade from pre cataract surgery. Also to note that eye pressure is also healthy and has been all along including right after surgery. Im writing to inquire if anyone else has ever had anything similar? Our eye doctor has asked us to give Jethro a month or so and see if the fibrin goes away - he is perplexed that the fibrin remains. I'm not looking for answers - just other's experiences.
Thanks!
