Hey everyone!
I have a 7 year old yorkie that I've trained to be off leash since he was a puppy. I always try to keep him engaged and have never had problems with him bolting to chase animals, other dogs or people. I also tend to stop and have him sit next to me when other's pass on the trail. However, the other day when we were hiking or usual spot, he bolted. Now this is out in national forest so I jogged after him to keep him in sight while giving him the usual commands to stop and come back but he would not listen. I caught him when he stopped to pee on a bush. I'm just curious what would cause him to all of a sudden not listen? I was thinking coyotes that he could smell but I didn't see? We were headed back to the car, he knows the route and possibly thought the car was safest?
