Anyone know of and/or use something that actually works ?

I think I'm going to use the words "coconut oil" more then any other words in this forum... Coconut oil is great for dogs, internally and externally, it has natural anti-fungal, antioxidant and anti parasite properties as well as maintaining healthy thyroid function. How well it works is dependent on the dog though.

For my dog Bo, coconut oil is all I need to use. He gets a tablespoon morning and evening drizzled over his food and about once a month I mix a couple of tablespoons into a gallon of water and work it into his coat.

Fleas seem to love my other dog, Lexi and I have to give her the Comfortis monthly tablet.

Not in my area. I've tried a few different things, including herbal based sprays, cocnut oil and garlic, with zero luck (well, against ticks anyway, never had any flea problems). But we get HUGE tick problems here in the spring and summer, so if you have less infestation problems your milage may vary.

Thank you . We do not have a flea problem but we do have Ticks .
Our dogs fenced in area has a concrete floor and we keep the grass on the outside cut very short .. They have never got any ticks just from being outside . Our big dog goes for walks with my husband on the road . He is the only one that will get a Tick occasionally .. I guess I will decide on a Natural prevention and try it out and see how it works.

I always prefer a natural remedy when available but because Leishmaniasis is so prevalent where I live and I haven't found any natural product that stops sand flies, both of my dogs have Scalibor collars which along with preventing mosquito and sand fly bites, prevents ticks but as I found out last year with Lexi... does nothing for fleas.

Ticks are so bad here in New Hampshire in the spring, and over half of them carry Lyme. We cannot afford to mess around with stuff that is not proven to work. I

If there were a "natural" product that actually worked, I think it would be very much in demand.

So far Frontline is working for us, but we hear the ticks are getting resistant to it here too.

I'm just trying the Seresto collar since Frontline combo wasn't working. 4 days in and he seems to have more ticks than ever. He's a very hairy dog so it's hard to get the collar in contact with the skin. I've just had a half hour battle to get four ticks off - the silly thing is, when he gives up and lets me remove one, it doesn't appear to hurt him at all!

Ahah, I already made a mistake once and do not want to repeat my mistakes. I had ticks at home and immediately called in a specialist for chemical cleaning and after that I started having severe headaches and breathing problems. I called my doctor right away and he told me to use myhealthconfirm.com home rapid test kit to determine if there are heavy metals and chemicals in my body. The tests showed the result very quickly and it turned out that I have a lot of heavy metals in my body and I went through the detoxification process for a long time ... so I will never use chemicals again!
