I actually gave my Pei a dose in January. Extreme lethargy and loss of appetite. Now it is May. Appetite started to return, but no longer likes his peanut butter (which I use to give him other medication, daily, for last 5 years. Now he is drinking excessively . I fear kidney problems. I have taken good care of this breed for over 30 years, so I am VERY familiar with them. Off to the Vet, again, who recommended this poison...grrr... I hope it hasn't killed my boy (around 9yrs old). The older (13 yr) girl seems to have recovered, somewhat, after many bouts with anxiety and lethargy.Just saw a commercial for this yesterday, and wonder if anybody has used it or has any experience with it? Last year my dog has a pretty bad reaction to Frontline Plus. This was after using it for about 5 years every summer without issue. This year I am trying Canine Advantix, but I just brought him home from "doggie daycare" (aka my BF's parents) where he was all weekend only to find several fleas crawling on him. I had treated him a few days prior to taking him there in anticipation that fleas had been an issue before.
Also, ever since the episode last year he tends to freak out, snap at me, growl, etc when he sees me coming for him with the flea applicator. After treatment he tends to go right to his crate and cower in it for a few hours.
NexGard sounds like it could be a solution to his dislike of his monthly flea treatment, but I wonder how effective it is. onder:
