Hello. We just recently adopted a 3 year old Siberian Husky named Luka 11 days ago. He was rescued with about 6 other huskies and they believe they were used for breeding purposes. He is heartworm positive (he has his first shot on July 24th) and has to take 200 mg of doxycycline a day until the 16th and we have to put medicated cream on top of his ears and above his left eye where fly larvae had been eating away at his skin. So we know his body is under a TON of stress but, him not eating us worrying me so much. I tried switching between 2 different brand's (American Journey and Taste of The Wild) but, he refuses to eat it. He will only eat soft food as long as I give it to him. Sometimes I have to make him eat it because he has to take it with his medicine or he will throw up. He still drinks water plenty and uses the restroom regularly but, he has lost weight since we adopted him and I feel horrible...I feel like I'm doing something wrong. It looks like I'm starving my baby Luka! Our Vet reassured us that this behavior is normal and some dogs take longer to adjust but, we do have an appt. Wednesday. Anyways, has anyone else experienced this before? If so, how long until your furbaby ate regularly?

That does sound like a lot of stress on that poor boy, but I'm so glad that he has a wonderful new home with you!
If you've spoken to a veterinarian, then I wouldn't worry so much. Do you have any idea what food he was being fed before he was brought home with you? It might make transitioning easier - and might be beneficial to his stress-level - if you feed what he was eating before and then transition to something new!
Good luck with everything, and I'd love to have an update!
