Hello everyone. I have a Shih Tzu baby and now he's 1yr and 7mos. Actually, I treat him as my second son. :)

TPLO is a surgery, not a condition. And it's done on the knee, not the elbow - was that what they meant?
What do you do if your dog won't mate?
Why would you want to mate her? She is cute but it looks like she has an underbite, if you are asking about TPLO it suggests she has dodgy knees and you have said she has elbow problems.

Physically it would put a lot of strain on her, you could lose her.

I. Saying ”she” because you refer to her as female in post #6, but in post #1 you refer to him as male. If he is male, mating him could change his temperament.

In the UK, the following tests should be done on both parents before breeding -

Hip dysplasia (HD) - breed 5 year mean score 27.7 (parents should be much lower)

Eye disease: glaucoma (annual testing); cataract (annual testing); Progressive retinal atrophy (PRA) annual testing; Brachycephalic ocular syndrome (annual testing).
