I joined this forum to try to get advice on something. It is a long story, I'll be as short as possible. My boss, who is also going to be my father in law, has a newish wife. They are 80 years old. No, this is not about them, not really. They got a dog about a year and a half ago, A border collie/sheltie mix. I don't believe they can handle him. I spend a ton of time with this dog. It is like he is mine. But I am not there all the time. Anyway, he seems to be an accident magnet. He is suffering from mange, which I took him to vet for. I got his medication. Any time he has to go to the dr I take him. Anyway, yesterday afternoon I guess he chewed his pads. Probably from itching. I went right there after work to try to wrap it up. The dog was so excited from everyone trying to hold him still. He is very excitable. Sometimes aggressive. I believe it is fear aggression. Sorry, off topic. I tell her that I will wait a few minutes until he calms down. The dog is standing on the bed. She grabs the front leg that is farther from her and she tries pulling it underneath him. Trying to flip him on his back. This is AFTER she was trying to lay on top of him to hold him down. The poor dog was struggling and snapping. So as she is pulling his leg, I had had enough. I kind of raised my voice saying no wonder he won't let her touch him, that she's gonna break his leg. She screams at me and walks out. I don't think I was wrong in saying that. She was holding his paw and trying to pull it underneath his body towards her. I feel horrible that I raised my voice, but I felt the need to stick up for the dog. I'm afraid he is going to really go after her one day. She shakes things at him, squirts him, is just plain rough. It is making me crazy. I'm sorry to be all over the place. But he is like my baby and I hate seeing him in pain.
