Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and I need some help. We have a 1 year old Chihuahua, her name is Zoe. She is trained to go on her potty pads but here is the problem we are facing...

She will sometimes grab one of the potty pads, run to another room with them and then tear them up. She doesn't eat the pads, she just rips them up. It's not all the time but it's enough to be frustrating. We don't really like having to take her potty outside because we live in an apartment complex and there are much bigger dogs in our neighborhood and we don't want her to get hurt.

So my question is, is there any way to break her out of the habit of wanting to destroy her potty pads?

Hi! I'm not sure how to train her to not rip them up, but I have a potty pad holder (from Walmart I think). Basically, it is a plastic frame that is designed to hold the potty pad in place, I would think that this would prevent the dog from picking it up and tearing it up! Hope this helps :)
