Try this... a dog trainer whom a friend of mine used to train her picky eater told her this: Put the food out in the AM for 10-15 min. If it is not eaten, take it away. In the evening, same thing.. 10-15 min, and if he won't eat take it away.... soon he will learn that when you put out food, its time to eat. It worked WONDERS for her dog! By the next day or so, he learned to eat no problem Good Luck!

I had a very picky eater. I literally tried every food sold at commercial pet stores and my dog would not eat them, or eat and then throw it all up. It turns out, my dog was allergic to grains.

Perhaps, unintentionally, what your dog is eating may be making him feel sick. Try another brand of food. When I started feeding Innova Evo brand in the morning and North West Naturals raw food for dinner, my dog now whines for her food between the time i open the bag until I place it on the floor. It's worth a try!

It is most likely that your dog has learned that whenever you come home in the evenings you will feed him personally. I agree with Hudson, all my dogs have always been on a feeding schedule. Once in the morning and again in the evening, your pup will soon get used to the schedule and start eating on his own. If after a day or so if he still isn't eating on his own, trying adding some extra goodies to entice him but don't hand feed him anymore. If you give in he'll never change his behavior.
