Hi,
My dog tore the pads on his paws. The pads have cuts and are torn in some places. I keep them washed and put thick socks on his paws when we go outside. There is no infection, just the wounded areas. Should I wait till they heal or should I take the dog to the vet?

Considering he uses his paws pads for walking, I'd strongly suggest to take any injury to them serious and take them to the vet. By using socks you could be creating a damp warm enviroment which is just perfect for bacterial growth and infections. Even if there is none now, I'm sure having wounds on the bottom of his feet hurts. Take him in please.

Take him to the vet. The possibility of infection is real, as is the problem of possibly cutting off circulation if you apply bandages or socks. Get some real medical advice, not just internet chatter.

And be more careful about where and how much you exercise him in the future.
Hot pavement is especially dangerous right now.
