Hello All!
I have a mini aussie who is 13 weeks old! When I picked him up he had the cutest little ears that were folded, now his ears stand straight up! I have read that the ears often do funky things during teething but will the ears go back down or now that they are up will they stay up?

Oh, he's super cute :)

His ears are interesting, even when folded in the first picture they're almost more like Sheltie/Collie folds rather than Aussie. I'd say they could go back down, or not, you may just be surprised!

Yaa for another mini aussie. As PoppyKenna said its kind of a 50-50 chance. Did you get to meet his parents?, looking at their ears might give you a bit of a clue about how his ears might end up.

The second picture is hard to tell, since he is looking up, so the ears will be more exaggerated then straight on.

Prick ears aren't super common in Aussies, since it is a a major fault in the show ring. Seeing the parents would give you a major clue. If neither one of them are prick it is very unlikely your puppy will have prick ears.

Most Mini Aussies I see have ears high on the top of the head, and folded over.

A lot of (MAS and standard) Aussies get their ears glues and massaged down. Aayla's ears went through a lot of phases, she now has one folded and one sideways ear. The show people I train with wanted me to massage her ear every night to try and get it down but I just didn't care enough to do it.
