I have had dogs my whole life, which is quite awhile considering I'm going to be 50 in a few days

.
Back in my younger days, I worked proffessionally with dogs, both show and pet, but now just have my two monsters and they are just pets.
Chewie is a just 2 year old, parti colored, standard poodle. I'm a total standard poodle fanatic, I've been around them for over 30 years and I think they are the best dog for me. I am also a first class poodle snob and actually swore I would never own a parti color. When I lose my last standard, a beautiful black male, and started looking for another, I decided that at my age, I didn't need another show quality standard, I just needed a standard in my life, so I started checking out rescues on petfinder. I found a listing from a pound over two hours from me, no pic, just said young male standard. I drove over two hours to find a very sick, neglected and abused 7 month old standard pup and horrors of horrors, a parti color. My logical mind said, 'this dog is a mess and a parti color', my heart wouldn't let me leave him. A year and a half later, lots of vet bills, even more tears, and he's now a happy go lucky dog, my little 74 pound lap dog.
Tosh is a brindle boxer and very much my problem child. Last june when I lose my old chow cross, I took Chewie to my local pound to pick out his new little brother or sister. I have never had a boxer and really never intended to, my taste run more along the line of coated dogs, but her and Chewie hit it off so well that I couldn't say no. She's a goof, around 2 1/2 now. She likes to play dumb, but I know better, she puts a lot of thought into figuring out ways to get into trouble. But she has the sweetest nature, is very affectionate and her and Chewie are able to keep up with each other so make great playmates. I call them my Mutt and Jeff duo, total opposites of each other in looks.
I'm going to try and post pics of them, hope it works.
