Mid-October bandit had an issue with his back and had to go to the vet. We weighed him there and he weighed in at 27.9lbs, they said his weight was perfect and he was in great shape. Well about two weeks ago I took him to a friends house and they said that he looked thinner then the last time they had seen him, I hadn't noticed until she said something but I agreed with her and started upping his food intake and keeping more careful track of it. I wanted to take him to the vet, but Christian told me to wait since we had a visit scheduled for today anyways to get his vaccines updated. I had noticed that he wasn't gaining any weight but I couldn't tell if he was still losing weight or if it was just my anxiety playing tricks on me. Well, they weighed him today and hes only 24.9lbs! He lost almost three pounds in a month! I started to panic but ordered a fecal because my mind immediately went to worms. Fecal came back clear, and I don't even know what to expect now. He has been eating perfectly and I don't know any other things that would cause him to drop so much weight so quickly. You can easily count his ribs now and we've gone from a healthy tuck-up to basically seeing his hip bones protruding. I may be overreacting but I'm freaking out, The vet didn't seem super concerned but she did order some blood work to be done when we go back in three weeks for his lyme disease booster shot. Should I push for an earlier appt.? Is there any other tests I need to be looking at or asking for? I have a monthly plan with them so a lot of this is covered under that and I get a fairly decent discount so I can get a lot of tests done if that's whats needed. Thanks for your input!
