Hello all,

I trust this message finds you all well. I am a newcomer to this forum and and making this post on the advice of a friend. As this is my first post on this forum I hope that my request is well received.

I have a 1.5 year old huskey-lab mix. When she was six months old she ate a sock and ran into some serious trouble. She ended up getting really skinny as we where looking for the problem. Long story short she ended up getting a operation removing a portion of her stomach and intestine.

Little Gemma has a hard time putting weight on, and im wondering if anyone can provide me with some nutritional advice. I am more than happy to provide specifics should anyone chime in here.

Thanks in advance,

Hi. Have you tried asking your vet about suggestions? Is she not eating her normal food? What does she eat now? At my animal hospital we sell Just Food for Dogs, not sure where your location is but their food is really great and even picky eaters like it. They also make special diets for dogs with specific problems. You might want to google Just Food for Dogs. They also have their own store locations so you don't have to go through the vet. I had an issue with one of my dogs not eating all his food and skipping his morning meals, he wasn't malnourished but he runs 10 miles a day and since he isn't a food motivated dog, I tried the Just Food for Dogs and he loves eat, eats all his meals now and put on a couple pounds.
