She is not only my friend but also coming out of juniors and wants to be a professional hander- so she has an exclusive on Lindsey.
Here is Lindseys first show- 3 point major!!! Broke the record youngest Borzoi to get a major!
Best of Opposite means the opposite sex of the one that took Best of Breed. So if the one that took Best of Breed is a male, the Best of Opposite is female. Best of Winners is you have a the best winners bitch, and best winners dog ( the best of females or males in the classes not in Best of Breed ring). The two winners male, female ( ie dog and bitch), then go into the Best of Breed ring where there are already finished champions ( ie specials).
Then the judge picks the Best of the Breed, the Best of opposite ( which ever that is), then of the two ( winners dog or winners bitch) the judge picks whichever is the better of the Winners- ie best of Winners.
The second picture Lindsey got Best of Opposite, but also won Best of Winners ( ie she waas the better of the two winners) taking the points of the ones she best, thus ending up with a 3 point major... See?
Or put it this way - each class runs ( there are several- first males ( dogs) then females- bitches), then the 1st place of each sex competes against each other for Winners dog, then 1st place of each bitch together and winner is winners bitch. Then Winners dog, Winners bitch goes into Best of breed ring which includes dog and bitch already finished champions. Then it goes from there. The judge selects at a min. the Best of Breed, Best of Opposite, and which of the two winners ( ie the winners dog or winners bitch ) is better as Best of Winners.. Does that help?
