Looking some advice on training with our pitbull. He is not aggressive and I have had alot of progress in training him. He reacts very well to hand signals which we have used to train sit, stay, wait your turn, and (working on) lie down. However, we have had so many problems with him jumping on guests. He gets very excited and most guests i have help me but ignoring him and turning when he goes to jump on them. I tell them not to pet him until he has calmed down and sits. This has not seemed to work at all. He has become calm with regular guests like a few of my kids friends and my brothers. He is also very mouthy. It is noticeable that the people who had him as a puppy did not train bite inhibition with him but we have been doing alot of work on it. The big problem is when he jumps and mouths. He has jumped on my son and while moving his mouth broke skin on his lip. Just today i took him out to the yard and he sat very nicely to be pet by my daughters friend who he is very good with and used to. As she was petting him he jumped up and got her face too. He broke skin on her lip and cheek. It wasn't really a bite. It just seems like he can never stop moving his mouth and when he jumps up he gets to the kids' faces. I do not want to get rid of him but we are on possibly the last straw with him going at little kids face. He is not acting aggressive. I really need advice and help!
