Hello,
I recently purchased a dog from a pet store registered as a jack russell terrier. I have taken him to a puppy training class and the trainer does not trust/believe he is full JRT. I have no clue, I just trusted what the pet store said? Pictures below are from him at 3-months old. Thoughts..?

During introductions when I said he is a JRT, she said are u sure?? And stared at him for a minute in disbelief, during the next class she said oh ur the jack russell mix?? I don’t know what is her reasoning 🙁

Probably the ears. Folded button ears are the usual (at least here) and the breed standard, I believe, with prick being uncommon.

Awwwww, maybe he is mixed, but looks a lot like Jack Russell. I just love those ears!!! He looks like a sweetheart!

Looks Jack Russel to me. Don't know why your teacher suggested a mix. Although, if you got the pup at a pet store it is possible that the pup came from a puppy mill or other not very good breeder, and that may account for any variation in his appearance, without necessarily meaning he is not a purebred.
Doesn't mean he isn't a great dog, either! And very cute indeed.
