Here we go again…. it’s Karitsa’s 1st Birthday tribute since being adopted by us!!
Where should I start…. well… let’s say that having Karitsa in my life has definitely been a fun and interesting ride so far lol. This girl is the embodiment of love and stubbornness all rolled into one! She has become such an affectionate girl that she will literally bury her head in my crotch until I pet her, lol. Karitsa has come such a long way in terms of “somewhat” listening to what you say to “mostly” listening, plus she will talk back sometimes when she doesn’t want to listen but does it anyways in s-l-o-w m-o-t-i-o-n, lol. Karitsa has even learned her 1st trick, which took a long time mind you. She can now “spin” and will sometimes do it before being asked during feeding time, lol.
Karitsa is my girl and she knows it. We have our daily routine when I come home from work. She will not go outside unless I say hi to her on the couch. This is no 1-minute petting session, it has to be at least 10 mins of loving, then she gets treats in the kitchen, then will reluctantly go outside; even though she often gives a hard time to come back in, lol. Where is the logic in that, I have grown accustomed to Karitsa’s weird quirks.
Karitsa has this zest for life and her smile when she comes when called in the yard is intoxicating. It sometimes brings tears of happiness to my eyes. I know I’m an exceptionally sappy person, she just makes me so happy and seeing her happy makes me even more happy.
I couldn’t imagine my life without this big “marshmallow” dog leaning against my legs while looking up at me with her soulful eyes. It’s like she’s looking right into my soul and I know she has my back and I have hers. We often do her job of “protecting her flock” (meaning her furry brothers) together and I find she really enjoys this. We will patrol the perimeter of the yard and I can see that she is in all her glory having a purpose…..to love us unconditionally and keeping our lives interesting and full of laughter.
