Hello again!

So I'm having issues with Walter (8 week old pup) doing his business outside. I know he needs to go often and I'll take him out when I know he should need to go (after eating/drinking water/playing, etc.) but a lot of times, he just eats the grass, dirt, leaves, anything he can find rather than going.

I've read not to play or walk him until he goes, and just stand and be still to wait for him to go -- however this does not work because he will just eat everything on the ground, so I really can't just stand there and wait and let him do that.

Any advice??

Yes we do try that, but again, he just starts eating everything rather than walking. He'll start sniffing around as if he's going to pee, but instead just puts things in his mouth and eats them -- I'm worried he'll swallow something dangerous. He literally cannot be outside without doing this, walking or not. Which makes it very difficult to housetrain him. :(
