Is it fine to skip his deworming appointment?

I got so busy this past few weeks that I totally forgot about his deworming schedule. He was set to get dewormed last 7th. Is it fine to skip his deworming schedules?

I mean, since he have a monthly schedule for deworming, is it fine if I jsut bring him to vet every 2 or three months? She is now 5 months old.

and another thing, Is it normal for dogs to have their fangs removed? I was shocked earlier when she went to my arms and spit out his lower fang. I think that's fine right? like humans, they develop new teeth? right?

thanks guys!

I never get my dogs dewormed by the vet unless something shows up on their yearly fecal. I generally deworm them with pyrantel pamoate a couple times a year, but otherwise unless there's an issue that's it. So I wouldn't worry about missing an appointment. Unless your dog is out eating wild animals or with other wormy dogs, worms shouldn't be a big issue.

Another thing most people don't know is that few worms is not harmful and perfectly normal, even for humans. Obviously I'm not saying they're a good thing, but they're not as big a worry as many think.

Once a month is to much I think your vet is making some bucks off you. About the tooth at that age it is normal to still be loosing baby teeth.

ChessaQ and Dawnben thank you guys.

I got worried because I saw little worms on her feces last week.

Same thing with my 2 months shih tzu female puppy. I literally have to pull a 7 inches long white worm from her rectum (i think that's the term. hahaha)
She never had any deworming since I got her. So I am planning this weekend to bring her to my vet.
Sounds like a tapeworm. Don't have to go to the vet for that, praziquantel is generic and over the counter.

I thought you meant that the vet routinely wormed them once a month. Sounds like you need to treat them all at once or they will just keep getting them from each other.

They sound like they all have tapeworms! Be sure you treat them all and make sure whatever wormer you buy(if you decide to do it yourself) is one that specifically says it will kill tapeworm because many do not! Also, tapeworm is caused by ingesting fleas, so you need to get rid of them too!
BTW..........tapeworms are catchy to humans too!
Be careful treating the 8 week old puppy as she is too young for flea meds......I'd probably give her a bath and let the shampoo drown the fleas then comb thru her coat with a flea comb.......... search the internet on ways to de-flea a very young puppy!

anankae - thank for this. this is very iformative for me. I'll try to look for that but I'm not really sure if we have that here in the Philippines. Thanks tho.
LuvMyFluff - I'll try your suggestion as well. My 8 week old puppy actually hates comb. So I'm having a hard time. But I'm being patient with her.
