Today my dog was diagnosed with Interdigital Abscesses. The Vet put her on 50mg once a day Simplicef. I have been researching to see if there is anything else I can do to help her recovery. She also had this same thing back in late October, right before she was diagnosed with Lupus and they had her on Clavamox and Clindamycin along with Atopica 25 mg with ketoconazole 12.5 mg and Prednisone 15 mg once a day. She is still on 25 mg Atopica with Ketoconazole 12.5 mg and Prednisone 7.5 mg every other day as they have continued to ween her down. I don't think anyone knows 100% she has Lupus but I have to go with what Derm Dr said "looks closest to Lupus".
She was also diagnosed today with superficial bacterial folliculitis on a small spot near her rear / groin. The Vet told me I could use miconazole nitrate 2% on that spot and on her toes. But I also read that triple antibiotic ointment would be good to use. I guess the problem is that we don't know if its fungal or bacterial but he did check her for ringworm and nothing showed up under ultraviolet but he also did it quick so that it would not stir up her lupus.
