Hi there,

I've been having troubles trying to locate a Puggle breeder in my area - i live in Southern Ontario, Canada.
There are numerous sites online that have them, but i would rather not get a dog off the internet, with out even being able to meet the breeder/owner in person.
If any one knows of any reputable breeders in the Southern Ontario area, i would really appreciate the information!

Thanks so much,
Sofia

WHen my older sister was living in Idaho, she adopted a beautiful pug/beagle mix. I'm thinking because she looks more pug than beagle that her mother or father being a beagle and pug mix was bred with a purebred pug. In anycase, she adopted her from a shelter there and she is perfect. I'm not a big beagle fan even with some mixes, but this one has won my heart with her calm and gentle and quirkey personality.

I agree that you should try a shelter or rescue center and adopt from them if you're looking for a mutt.

Not aware of any reputable breeders of Pug Beagle mixes (its kind of an oxymoron). There are GOBS of them in rescue. I second Mischief's suggestion.
x100

Petfinder.com ...don't bother looking for a breeder, because you most likely will not find a reputable one. I'd say you should just go rescue a dog instead. ^_^

try petfinder.com
Be careful with petfinders there was a group called tiny paws rescue that was actually a puppy mill churning out mixes and selling them as rescues. Google the rescue group and make sure there are no negative complaints. After I saw this on the news I googled tiny paws and there were groups in a lot of different states and a lot of complaints about sick dogs. Sad isn't it.

Agreed!

You should always use caution when dealing with any organization. To me, it's just common sense to check out the group that you are considering adopting your next family member from... Not all organizations are created equal, so it will require some effort on the adopters part to determine which rescues/shelters they wish to support.

Petfinder is not without it's flaws but overall it's a very good source for animals in need of good homes, through no fault of their own.

I guess to me, a few bad apples "Don't" spoil the bunch. So if the OP is serious about wanting a puggle, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to find a decent rescue/shelter in her area, through Petfinder, that could provide her with what she seeks.....rather than going to a less than reputable source.

On a personal note, Most rescues/shelters will no longer adopt out to me because I have what they consider "too many" dogs and because I have 2 females that are not spayed but that hasn't soured my perception of them in general and I still recommend them for those who are looking for a family pet.
Depending on your individual situation, you may have better luck than I have, Sofia :D
Please keep us updated and let us know how your search is going.
Best of Luck :)
