There are breeds that naturally have similar mottled patterns on their coats, but there are also several pathogenic causes. Is the skin under the spots red, inflammed or flaky?View attachment 256743
Hi everyone,
could someone perhaps advise on this matter. I’ve recently adopted this dog but I’ve noticed this strange pattern on her fur. Does anyone know what this be?
With a recent adoption, it could be as simple as new hair growth coming in smoother because of better nutrition, or losing some of their winter coat if they're coming in from living primarily outside.Hi!
no he skin is fine underneath, she’s not itching either. It looks like her fur is becoming lighter for some reason but I’m not sure what’s causing it.
it also seems like the fur that’s changing is softer
Oh I see. It could be, and most probably change in diet I’m guessing. With a recent adoption, it could be as simple as new hair growth coming in smoother because of better nutrition, or losing some of their winter coat if they're coming in from living primarily outside.
Hi!Can you provide more information about the pattern you've noticed on your recently adopted dog's fur? Are there any specific symptoms or behaviors that you've noticed in addition to the pattern on their fur? It may be helpful to include a description of the pattern (e.g. color, shape, size) and where it is located on the dog's body. Additionally, it would be helpful to know if this is a new development or if the pattern has been present since you adopted the dog. This information can help me provide you with a more detailed answer.
