Hello there!

My name is Courtney and I'm from a small town in Saskatchewan (there are lots of them). I have owned plenty of dogs, or at least my family has. (I'm just in Grade 12 this year!) so I have alot of silly, sad and interesting stories!

I moved out of my parent's house and into my older sister's house not long ago and she has a Pomeranian named Diablo (b/c he's such a charming little devil!). He's red sable - at least I beleve that's what it is called. And so cute. He's got the craziest personality I have ever seen!

My parents also bought a pomeranian shortly after. I'm not sure what colour he is but his colouring is similiar to that of a timber wolf! He's speedy and smart, but refuses to become completely house trained. His name is Mihigan (My-ee-ghan) which is Cree for wolf. We have an Aboriginal background, which is why they chose the name.

When I was in Grade 6, my family also rescued a mutt (later found out that the dog was my uncle's and was a chihauha x yorkie) from the reserve. Since she was an "orphan" we named her Annie. We didn't think she would live but she did and she's still going strong. She's definitely the boss of the house and she knows it! She loves to cuddle, and she's my favorite dog. I miss her tons since I moved out!

Recently, I've decided I'm getting my very own first dog. I know many people will probably assume I'm not responsible enough or will not have enough time. I have to stick around for a bit after school (a couple years) so I can save up money and decide what I want to do when I grow up. I have a job, and only three classes a day during the school day. I know exactly what kind I want - A Boggle AKA Boglen (Boston Terrier x Beagle)

Well, anyway, I've been creeping around the forum and checking things out and I cannot wait to get to started in posting! I will post pictures of all the dogs in my life. :) And update you on the puppy situation.

Much love,
D-O-G

I'm sorry I cheated and pasted this off another forum for puppies I joined. I'm so tired. Ha. ):

Hi, and welcome to the forums. I don't assume someone to not be responsible just because they are young. I definitely think getting a dog could work out well for you. Right now it looks like you are living with your sister. I would start to think about down the line if you are ever going to have to rent or anything you run the risk of renters not allowing pets. Considering you are interested in a small to medium sized dog it shouldn't be too big of an issue. Also, I have only ever seen Boggles in pet shops. Have you considered possibly getting either just a pure bred Boston Terrier or a pure bred Beagle? Boggles aren't actually a recognized breed. Just a thought, or you could always check out the rescues or shelters.

My Valentine - Well, I love mixes because that's what I've always had! Hehe. I do want a purebred someday, but I like the bigger ones. In March, hopefully, after I've moved into the house with the fenced yard, is when I'll get HIM. I liked the name Tucker but my Teacher has a dog named Tucker so I decided to change it. Hopefully a red or brindle one ! He's a real cutie.

Sarah - There are lots of apartments in most of the cities in Saskatchewan. :) I've looked into it. They do cost a little more but I figure I'll be able to work it out. I love both breeds. I haven't seen them in a pet shop because I refuse to buy them from pet shops. I think their awful. ): I actually know a private breeder that only breeds her female dogs twice (with two years in between) and then gets them spayed. She's a really nice lady! The shelters close to me only have large dogs usually, and the small dogs are dogs that I just don't click with. I know they aren't, I don't really care about that. I just want a little gaffer to love and call my own. :) I'll keep my eye out, if something pups up that I want, I'll definitely consider it.

To everyone else - thanks for the super warm reception! You guys are going to find out fast I love to talk!
