If the saucer is clay, it is already ruining your floors. Clay is porous, no good on hardwood. You need to get a plastic saucer, that fits tightly with the pot. It is still not a good idea to have a plant or saucer sit directly on hardwood, something that raises the plant up a bit is best. Even then, you have to water extremely carefully so there is never overflow, otherwise you ruin your floor. IMHO large plants do not belong on a hardwood floor. Better to move it to tile or vinyl. Put a smaller plant on a table.
