I fear that I spoiled my Gidget by giving her treats like bits of cheese or weiners, or left-overs from my plate. Now she won't eat her food. She begs for mine. She will eat the cat's canned food, but not the dry. I have stopped providing the treats to her but she still does not eat her own dry food at all. I have moistened it with warm water and added a little grease; then she will eat a few bites. What can I do to get her to eat more? How much should a five-pound dog eat anyway?

Hello and Welcome ..

I would recommend not adding grease of any kind it could cause digestive issues . A five pound dog has a tiny stomach so 3 meals a day is best if you can do it .. Since she likes the canned food , get some canned DOG food and add maybe a level tbs to an 1/8 cup of kibble with a bit of warm water . See how she likes that .
